Pasture-Raised Chickens Are Ready

Great News!

Wow!  We are so excited.  We thought that this announcement would not be happening until next year, but we have found a local processor for our pasture-raised broilers.  You will now be able to enjoy the same delicious goodness that we enjoy at our family table.

How Do You Share This Bounty?

These birds are part of our meat CSA that we introduced a few weeks ago.  This model is really quite simple.  When you sign up you purchase a share of the farm harvest.  Just remember, you will be purchasing live birds.  But, don't panic thinking you have to process them yourselves.  We will deliver the birds to the processor and return with them to the farm.  You then pick up your fresh, freezer ready chickens.  (Please keep in mind that we do not have enough freezer space to store your birds.  They must be picked up on the assigned day.)

The cost is $3.75 per pound plus the processing fee of $6.00 per bird (which will be listed separately on your invoice).  So, when all is said and done each bird will cost you approximately $5.00 per pound.  The birds weight average five pounds.  So a five pound bird will be $26.00.

We are taking your orders from now until the day the chickens go to the processor.  This will be just like ordering a 1/4 pig or 1/2 a beef.  You tell us how many birds you want for your freezer.  We take them to the processor for you.  You pick up your fresh birds at the farm.

If this sounds like something that you want to participate in click here and tell us how many birds you want to order. We will then contact you to confirm your order and make arrangements for a deposit of $15.00 per bird.

When we confirm your order we will let you know when you can pick up your fresh chicken.  So load up your family for an adventure to the farm.  Your children can enjoy some of the little farm animals while you enjoy a cup of fresh organic coffee.
